Terms of Service
These terms cover your use of LedgerChat, a bookkeeping service delivered through WhatsApp. By messaging our number and completing signup, you agree to them.
What the service does
LedgerChat records the entries you give it in a double-entry ledger, keeps balances for the people and businesses you deal with, and produces documents such as invoices, ledgers, statements and contracts. It does what you tell it to; it does not audit your business or check your arithmetic against reality.
What it is not
LedgerChat is not an accountant, auditor, tax adviser or lawyer, and nothing it produces is professional advice. Our contract and clause templates are a starting point, not legal advice. Before filing taxes or signing an agreement, have a qualified professional review it.
Your responsibilities
- The records are yours. You are responsible for entering them accurately and for checking the confirmation summary before saving.
- Keep access to your WhatsApp account secure. Anyone who can message us from your WhatsApp account can see and change your books.
- Use the service lawfully, and only for bookkeeping. WhatsApp's rules prohibit general-purpose assistants, so the bot answers only about your own books.
- You are responsible for any tax, invoicing or record-keeping obligations that apply to your business.
Plans and payment
- The Free plan is free and stays free. Its limits are shown on our pricing page and in the chat when you reach them.
- Paid plans are billed monthly in advance. You can stop at any time and keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
- If we change prices, we will tell you in the chat at least 30 days before it affects you.
- Unlimited entries means what it says, subject to fair use: if automated or abnormal volume threatens the service, we may contact you before limiting it.
Your data
Your records belong to you. You can export everything as a PDF at any time from Settings, and you can have everything permanently deleted, with a seven-day grace period in case you change your mind. See the Privacy Policy for detail.
Availability
We aim to keep LedgerChat running at all times, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Message delivery also depends on WhatsApp, which is outside our control. We may pause the service for maintenance, and will avoid busy hours where we can.
Limits of liability
LedgerChat is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or business decisions taken on the basis of your records. Our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period.
Ending the agreement
You can stop using the service at any time and delete your data from Settings. We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms, abuses the service, or puts our WhatsApp Business Platform access at risk. If we do, we will give you a way to export your records first unless the law prevents it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan, and the courts of Pakistan have jurisdiction over any dispute.
